One of those islands is called Macleod – about 72km after from Kawthaung (Victoria Point ) and the Thai border town Ranong- on which Myanmar Andaman Resort finds its place.




Day 1:  Arrive Yangon( D )
Arrival at Yangon International Airport, warmly welcome by guide ( escort ), transfer to Summit Park View hotel***, check in hotel, relax for a while. Sightseeing in World famous Shwedagon Pagoda is a magnificent, shimmering spire of gold rising 326 feet ( 99.3m). Built on a crest of the holy Thainguttara Hill, erected more than 2500 years ago and enshrining eight hairs of the Buddha placed in a treasure chamber deep under its base.Myanmar Buffet Dinner and cultural show at Karaweik Palace Restaurant (a royal barge on the lake in Kandawgyi Relaxation Zone).Overnight in Yangon.


Day 2: Yangon – Kawthaung-Kawthaung Jetty-Macleod Island(B/L/D)(By Flight / Boat)
Next morning, transfer to airport and fly to Kawthaung. And arrive at Kawthaung Airport, proceed to Kawthaung Jetty. And transfer to the Myanmar Andaman Resort, by Resort’s speed boat. At the southernmost tip of the country is BayintNaung Point, known during colonial times as Victoria point. The adjoining sea port of Kawthaung is opposite the Thai town of Ranong. Kawthaung is a busy trade but what attracts most visitors to the area are its beautiful islands, some of the 800 that comprise Myeik (Mergui) Archipelago. These uninhabited and thickly-forested islands lie like gems on the crystal clear waters, ringed with white sand beaches. The sea is so clear that from a boat you can see spectacular arrays of coral and many varieties sea life. Apart from kayaking, fishing, scuba and deep-sea diving, there are fishing villages to explore and Salon people.  Dinner and overnight at Myanmar Andaman Resort.(Marcleod Island).


Day 3:  Myanmar Andaman Resort ( Macleod Island)(B/L/D)
Free at your leisure.  Myanmar Andaman Resort’ is located on Macleod Island, directly on one of its awfully beautiful and longish sandy beaches. A reception ( with satellite phone and internet access ), a bar and a restaurant as well as well as a laundry service are offered to the guests.

The resort provides 14 bungalows ( appr. 26 square meter ) and  8 suites (appr. 40 square meters). Both , bungalows and suites have hot water, air condition, mini bar, mosquito net, and hair-dryer on its disposal. Its up to the guests, to choose between half-and full board. As food, local and international specialties are extended everyday to the guests.There is no mass tourism at all , at the Megui Archipelago. Myanmar Andaman Resort’ is the only one resort in between  800 uninhabited islands and the only regional dive center is located here, managed by ‘Extra Diver’. Day 4:   Myanmar Andaman Resort ( Macleod Island)(B/L/D)
Free at your leisure.  A journey to the Mergui Archipelago has still a discovering character. It offers an untouched underwater world and the biggest part of its reefs is still totally un chartered. According to this, perfect conditions are given to divers with a certain pioneering spirit, willing to detect something new. Due to its biodiversity and plurality is hardly to be exceeded, also for marine biologists; the Mergui Archipelago is among the best dive spots all around the world. Diving sites in Myeik Archipelagos are Black Rock, Burma Bank, Western Rocky, North Twin Island. Three Islet and Shark cave. The water is aqua blue and very clear. A variety of crabs, shrimps, spindle cowries, filament wrasse, maray eels, Sharks, Rays and nadibranchs can be found.Dinner and overnight at Myanmar Andaman Resort.( Macleod Island).


Day 5:  Myanmar Andaman Resort ( Macleod Island)(B/L/D)      
Free at your leisure.Also known as the Moken, they live among the hundreds of islands of the Myeik Archipelago. They are perhaps the earliest environmentalists who still remain so, far they only gather by hand what they need from the sea and do not even use nets to fish. They believe in keeping a balance between man and nature and in man with man: for if anyone among their dwindling group was to become ambitious it would destroy the equilibrium and peace of their community. They live on boats they prefer a life of freedom rather than being rooted to the land. They carry only a few possessions on their boats, such as cooking utensils, clothing and a few tools, such as spear for catching fish. During the stormy Monsoon season they build temporary houses of bamboo, and plant enough vegetables for their own use. After the monsoon they resume living aboard boats and anyone is free to occupy their houses. The Salon have no greed for property.

Day 6:  Myanmar Andaman Resort ( Macleod Island)(B/L/D)
Free at your leisure. Snorkeling and Skin Diving Program:          The Snorkeling and Skin Diving Program allows those who want explore the beautiful under water with mask snorkel and fin only, learn how to clear water from the snorkel and swim with fins, learn how to hyperventilation technique when breath holding dive.

Scuba Diving: There are scuba programs which allow those who have never tried it to safely experience the thrill of scuba diving in our pool. Dinner and overnight at Myanmar Andaman Resort.( Macleod Island).


Day 7: Macleod Island-Kawthaung Jetty-Kawthaung- Yangon(B/L/D)(By Flight / Boat)
After breakfasttransfers back toKawthaung Jetty, and transfers to Kawthaung by Myanmar Andaman Resort’s speed boat, and proceed to Kawthaung airport and fly back to Yangon.Overnight in Yangon.


Day 8: Departure Day (B)
After breakfast at hotel, pick up by guide, transfer to airport for your departure.

Precautions & Preparations:

  • There are some precautions and preparations that should be taken before diving, whether you are experienced or a beginner.
  • Never go diving too soon after or before flying. The change in atmospheric pressure can cause problems to the divers.
  • Never dive after a heavy meal. The blood flows to the stomach to aid digestion and may cause cramp.
  • Never consume alcohol before diving.
  • Always follow safety procedures as advised by the instructor.
  • Never go diving alone.
  • If a diving has experience but has not been diving for a while, one should take a quick refresher course on procedures, safety and practices.
  • Read as much as possible about the destination and place you are going to dive.

About “Myanmar Andaman Resort” Macleod Island

Mobile phone, Camera’s, Dive torches won’t be confiscated by Kawthaung Immigration. Unfortunately, there is no mobile-net-connection on the island.Credit Cards: We can’t provide credit card service. Consumptions on the island have to be paid in cash. (US$, THB) Foreign exchange is available at reception.

Oversea call (IDD), Internet & Skype is available. Please ask at reception.

Laundry    : Laundry service is provided.

Mosquito   : Mosquito-Spray is recommended , especially during sunset-time. All rooms are equipped with mosquito net.

For the boat transfer to and from the resort, It is impossible to drive the boat before sunrise and after sunset as it is dangerous to drive the boat in the darkness.
